Lexapro helped my depression and social anxiety a bit but not all the way, could Paxil work better? Also, I had some difficulty getting an erection while on Lexapro. Is it possible this symptom would not occur on Paxil?

Dana A replied: "You should ask your doctor about this. Some of these medicines have different effects on different people. Dana (M.S. Mental Health Counseling)"

Michael E replied: "paxil works very well for social anxiety but you will most likely have the same problem with getting an erection."

Cato replied: "Research I've seen suggests Paxil is among the most effective but also has the greatest degree of side-effects, especially the sexual side effects. Try looking into some of the newer medications such as Effexor XR or Welbutrin."

Has anyone else with social phobia been helped by Paxil? Before taking Paxil just people's glances and looks made me feel rejected. I had no self-confidence and social situations horrified me. My heartbeat would get heavier and faster in social situations. My palms would become sweaty. I always and I mean ALWAYS worried about what other people were thinking about me, so much to the extent that I would avoid being around people. Paxil has changed all of that. It's amazing. I feel comfortable in social situations. In fact, I love being with people now. I can voice my opinion on matters and not worry if someone disagrees with me. I have more self-confidence. My heart doesn't begin pounding when I'm around other people. I can go to bars and dance in front of other people. I can get up and give presentations and talks in front of a class. I feel so much better. Tell me about your experience with Paxil and how it has helped your social anxiety disorder. Thanks Arthur

Mary S replied: "I was an extremely shy introverted person before Paxil. I was afraid to talk to people, and went several years withour having any friends. So for that I am thankful. However at the time I was on it Paxil was a fairly new drug. I was placed on it at 16, which is now considered too young. While on Paxil, I hallucinated, and attempted suicide. Many people become dependant on Paxil, and going off it can be rough. I tired several time unsuccessfully to quit Paxil. Each time I felt ill, and depressed and started back up just to feel better. I finally got the strength to deal with the withdrawl and quit it all together in 2001. Paxil may also decrease you libido, and affect ability to climax. But if it works, and the side effects aren't too bad then stay on it."

How has anyone done with taking paxil? I have been taking paxil for a couple of weeks now. I have to start out taking small doses b/c of stomach irritation. I feel really groggy on it, but I do feel a sense of calm and not worrying as much about things. I was on elavil~amitriptiline but it caused such bad weight gain. How has this drug worked for you? I fight depression and anxiety, and my best friend battles with the same problem and said it really helped her feel better. Thanks for any answers.

Tell me about it... replied: "I took it a few years ago but stopped. Withdrawing from it sucked. And I gained a lot of weight while on it. Not my favorite experience."

humpty dumpty replied: "I was on it 12 years and it was perfectly fine. It worked well for me. I did keep 10 or 15 lbs on because of it but honey that is going to be the case for almost any SSRI. There is the generic if you are concerned about expense, paroxetine."

What can happen to a person mentally and physically if they are taking paxil and drink ALOT every night? My ex boyfriend changed after taking paxil. He has always drank every night but he started to drink even more while on the paxil. He is paranoid and moody. He has become disrespectful and nothing and I mean nothing is his fault. He blames me for everything all the time. When all I ever asked him to do was get some help.

theefovalways replied: "We are all "wired" differently. When I started taking Paxil, drinking made me feel groggy. I know you are not supposed to drink while on it, but I can't get a straight answer why."

Mary D replied: "There is only one answer I can give you.......Join Al Anon. There you will be supported to make the changes you need to make in your life. You cannot change him; but you can change. And often you changing means he decides to change too. Good luck"

Mike Wood replied: "He should get off paxil. I took it amyself and became moody and really out of it. In my opinion its a bad drug. I was on it for 4 months and when I finally got off it I felt like a new man. Tell him he should try getting over his depression naturally, thats what I did and it worked great. Sometimes medicine doesnt solve everything. Good Luck"

zsingr replied: "If he is drinking while on med, then the med won't be working! So he needs to either stop drinking or stop taking the med - otherwise it is a waste of time. Look after your own mental health too!!"

baronbrapp replied: "Paxil is part of the SSRI medication group for treating depression among other ailments. When a patient begins taking Paxil, that person can become increasingly depressed, moody, or even suicidal for the fist few weeks of taking the drug. However, the good effects of the drug usually kick in after five weeks, and patients typically show vast improvement in their well-being. Drinking heavily while taking Paxil isn't recommended because both the drug and alcohol are processed by the liver. Taking both causes an increased effect of drunkenness because the liver is unable to process both the drug and the alcohol quick enough to clean out the alcohol from the bloodstream. When your boyfriend drinks, he likely gets more drunk from less drink, if you follow. He should limit his intake of alcohol to just a few drinks if he does choose to drink."

niki's girl replied: "I called my pharmacist, she said you should NEVER mix the two, it can cause terrible side effects, such as serious mood swings, suicidal thoughts, and night sweats, etc, also if he is caught on the road by a policeman, he will get taken to jail, for mixing booze and drugs. BAD NEWS....Take care of yourself, o.k.? Also you can call alcoholics anonomous and ask them what to do. Niki."

What was your first experience with paxil like? I am taking it for the first time tonight. 10mg and I'm 17 years old. I'm actually kind of scared to take it. I am a hypochondriac though so I've kind of been obsessing over the side effects. All I keep reading though is stories about getting OFF of paxil, but I want to hear about your first times! Please help me calm down? Haha. Thank you in advance.

Private I replied: "Hey there kiddo..paxil should NEVEr be prescribed to anyone under the age of 18, and DO NOT TAKE THIS..I'll send you a proper web-site with government information~~~~~ ~~~~~~ Take your time reading through this..it may prove to be a vital lot of information for you!! There are other anti-depressants out there that have no negative effects whatsoever, such as SAMe or St. Johns Wort..both work fast and are incredible in the way they work, my daughter was given the drug and it was horrible..I spent 3 weeks with her sisters watching her round the clock~~Scary!! My VERY BEST to YOU ...Hugs..Hope..Health and Happiness to you~~and try to remember ; the less you want to be ill..the happier you'll be..why whould you want to be sick? Imagine all that there is in life to experience..and tis much more exciting to do with your health intact...Good luck Kiddo"

Tomorrow I start taking Paxil and I want to know what it does to you? If someone has taken it did it helped? or did it make you worse? I've read about the side effects if you stop taking it and I'm horrified. and it's it true that it makes you gain weight? (not that it would be a bad thing for me cause i'm really skinny so that would make me happy lol), anyways could someone tell me more about this medication? And my doctor gave me those pills cause I have panic attacks, anxiety, nervousness and apparently I have depression too. Anyways thank you all for all your replies. I'm kind of scared cause I don't want to get worse with those pills, but hopefully it will help me. =]

extremelyradicalman replied: "I know two people that take it, and their minds have totally turned to jelly. All they do is sleep all the time and they have absolutely no ambitions. Good luck!"

*Cheyenne* replied: "It will help you feel less depressed and anxious. Kudos to you for getting help for your anxiety/depression."

♥♥shadeofblue♥♥ replied: "umm..can you read the stuff your pharmacist gave you?"

Cardiophobia replied: "It depends. I started taking those because of my panic attacks, but stopped because they always tightened my jaw and my arms would hurt."

spindymindi replied: "i have never taken it but heres website that might help "

mlgable replied: "There is no way to tell how YOUR body will react to it. YOU have to take it and with luck it will be just the right medicine for you,. If you have problems with it after 2 weeks then call your doc and update him."

Max replied: "It's an anti-depressant. You probably will not notice a difference in your mood for three weeks. In the meantime, eat a chocolate bar. It works as well as Paxil. Oh Yeah, coming off those anti-depressants is not pleasant."

hbuckmeister replied: "My experience on Paxil. Where, do I start. I even argued with a nurse that it has terrible side affects. She insisted that it did not. Was she ever on Paxil, ummmmmmmmmm no. I was and for awhile. I can tell you what to expect. On it, you will experience the feeling of not being involved with society your just there, It may or may not settle your nerves. When trying to get off it? You will feel like yourself again and then the "BRAIN ZAPS" occur, thats what I call them. The feeling as tho someone just put two electrical units to your brain and you get zapped. White lights in the corner of the eyes. That occurs after the brain zap feeling. Weight gain was never a problem for me, every person is different. Not sure, why you were put on paxil to begin with, but I do suggest researching more if you have a disorder that was warranted the use of paxil. There are alternative ways of dealing with disorders other then medication. I suggest, researching them as well. Sometimes, a person just needs someone to listen to whats going on in their life, and doesn't need to be slapped on a pill."

Ol' Sasquatch replied: "Try this for a start. It is not right for everyone, but it's a start at controlling your moods. Took this for a while and it seemed to help. Doc changed meds to Xanax after a month or two. Both have sexual side affects but they can be overcome. While I like sex, I would rather be easier to get along with, with those I love. Both meds helped. Ask your doctor to be honest with you about the side effects. Most would be honored! IMHO - it's worth a try if you need the medication. The Ol' Sasquatch Ü"

BlueJuliet replied: "I took Paxil for only seven months for minor situational depression. I gained 15 pounds, and it eliminated all of my emotions except for anger - I became a very angry person. When I tried to quit taking it, I got the worst withdrawal symptoms, even though I followed the withdrawal protocol to the letter. I started feeling an incapacitating dizziness and vertigo, and electric shock feelings in my brain, accompanied by "zinging" sounds every time I moved my head or eyes. I developed difficulty thinking, speaking, numbness of the face, and loss of coordination. I developed weakness of my upper extremities, panic and anxiety attacks, and feelings of paranoia. I had a constant feeling of unreality and a complete loss of appetite. I got a huge, painful lump in my throat that felt like I'd swallowed a marble, which took weeks to resolve. I didn't start feeling well for five months, and in the meantime was unable to work, and could barely function. It was pure hell for me. Luckily, I've completely recovered from the experience, which was like nothing that ever happened to me before. There are probably people out there who do well on Paxil, but unfortunately I was not one of them. I would never recommend it to anyone, due to the potentially disabling withdrawal symptoms."

honest_funny_charlie replied: "I was put on Paxil before I got my diagnosis as bipolar. It doesn't work if you're bipolar rather than depressed, just like other antidepressants don't work when one is bipolar (I tried eight different antidepressants that resulted in an array of problems, even though I kept insisting to psychiatrists that they didn't work). I not only lost my sex drive (much to my partner's dismay), but I tried to kill myself approximately six weeks after going on it (and coming close to succeeding). Not trying to dampen your enthusiasm about finally getting help. Just trying to warn you about getting the wrong diagnosis. And I'm a skinny dude, so I didn't mind gaining weight, although I didn't."

Erin replied: "My mother used to take Paxil with no problems. On occasion, she'd get a bit drowsy, but not bad. And it did help her. I, however, cannot take Paxil. When I was first put on anti-depressants, the doctor prescribed Paxil. I only took it for four days. It's hard to put into words what happened to me. I couldn't think straight. Everything that happened around me was more surreal than real. It was almost like a bit of paranoia, but that's not the right word for what I felt. I couldn't focus on anything. I was completely freaking out. I remember when I got home (on the 4th day), my neighbors were out back chatting and sharing a beer and a smoke. One of them looked at me and quickly ran over to my car and took me by the arm to walk me to my front door, just to make sure I got home ok. Keep in mind, my parking spot is just behind the building. I only have to walk maybe 50 feet from my parking spot to my door. I honestly believe that if I stayed on Paxil for any longer, I would have become suicidal. Each person reacts to different meds in different ways. My advice to you is to pay close attention to your moods and generally how you feel when starting a new anti-depressant. Also ask a friend or someone you trust that you see a lot to keep an eye on you. Sometimes your friends are the key to seeing that a medication isn't right for you."

lemondrop replied: "I have taken Paxil. People are different and have different needs. I had anxiety issues. I was in my mid to late twenties. Although the Paxil did help me, I slept sooo much and that did not make me feel good. I was sleepy all the time. I would take naps during my lunch break at work. I took paxil for about a year and a half and never "got used" to the sleepiness. I had also tried other antidepressants previous to this and those made me sleepy too. I also felt groggy all the time. When I was ready to have a baby I decided I wanted to stop taking paxil. My doctor told me to cut the pills that I had in half. That was the worst thing I ever did to myself because the pills were controlled released and you are not supposed to cut them in half. I had what they call "electric shocks". It's like this shocking feeling inside your head and I was having withdrawls with this medication big time. For many months I had these electric shocks. It was absolutely miserable. If you do take Paxil and you do decide to quit...be very careful and stop in VERY small doses just as you would as you begin. On second hand.....just don't take this medication....it's just not right....it just doesn't make you feel right. I can honestly say and I don't know if it's because I am in my thirty two or what but I don't have the anxiety nearly as bad as I used too. And honestly I feel soooo much better now that I am not taking these medications anymore. If your situation is like mine where you have anxiety and it is making you feel depressed please consider self help books and psycologists instead of medication. I did not gain weight from taking Paxil. My best friend takes Efexor and is quite happy with it. I took efexor and Zoloft as well and I did gain a little weight with it, but your body adjusts itself. If you do decide to take this medication please remember not to skip a dose or you will be miserable and it is not good for you. Honestly I am so glad I am not taking antidepressants anymore......they made me feel better as far as socially but my body was tired, sleepy and I didn't have any energy."

jacko replied: "See the antidepressant (treats anxiety, too) websites, at on page 2 (read 2 & 2a), & I advise first trying the non psychopharmaceutical approach to treating depression, or anxiety (on page 6), especially if young. If they fail, (unlikely) you can start popping expensive pills, with unknown side effects, and potentially nasty withdrawals. It's your life: your decision!"

seeitmiway32 replied: "Surely your physician who prescribed this med could have answered all those questions. The best source for info is the package insert. Did you read it? Some meds work differently on people; for some it works with no side effects, other may have different kinds of effects, including weight gain."

Alexis R replied: "Maybe you should try Lexapro first. Its a newer SSRI and has fewer reported side effects than Paxil. I'm on Lexapro and I only felt a few side effects the first week of use and then they tapered off."

What are your experiences or insight with Paxil? I was prescribed paxil for social anxiety, but I am afraid to start taking it because of stories I have read online. I just want to get honest testimonies of people's experience with it. Especially in regards to things like: 1) weight gain 2) Dependency 3) and effectiveness Thank you for your help!

KraftyOne replied: "1) I gained 15 pounds. 2) I was able to quit cold turkey 3) Was effective, but I was told it was not good to be on long-term. I now take Zoloft. Also, Paxil made me feel EXTREMELY tired and worn out"

hsc16354 replied: "you won't know unless you take it ! if you have any problems , talk to your pharmacist...."

Victor replied: "Michael, It will take 2 to 4 weeks for your Paxil to reach full effect. Paxil does not cause weight gain as much as Celexa or Lexapro. Prozac, however, can cause weight loss due to its stimulating effect. The drug is effective for depression and can be helpful for anxiety, but must be dosed appropriately for full benefit. I have a friend who was on Paxil for approximately 6 months, but had to discontinue it due to painful electric-like shocks radiating through his tongue every 30 seconds. It will also cause anorgasmia, hence is a treatment in males for premature ejaculation. The SSRIs are an effective class, but they are not without their side effects. They also should not be stopped abruptly. If discontinuing the medication, it should be gradually tapered, because of dependence issues. If social anxiety is your concern, then I would recommend therapy with Buspirone (Buspar), or a short-acting benzodiazepine such as alprazolam or lorazepam as needed. Good luck!"

Rain replied: "Paxil has been the most effective pill for me, weight gain was not an issue. It took about a month for me to get used to it which is normal. I am dependent on it, if I dont take it i do get all depressed again. Overall I'd say it's been good because without it I wasn't doing very well wither. Also even if you get any side effects , you will come off of them in about 6 months so its not a big deal as long as your not allergic to anything in the pill."

laughlady replied: "Hello, I applaud you for doing your research before starting this medication, as it is not something I would recommend taking unless you think you absolutely need it. I have been on Paxil for probably about 7 or 8 years. I was having a lot of health problems, and a lot of anxiety happening because of it. The very first day I took it, I woke up that night and had a horrible panic attack, thought I couldn't breathe and I was dying (never had anything that bad happen previous to taking it). After about a week, though, I thought "WOW This is a miracle drug!" I was laying in bed at night just smiling because for the first time I wasn't laying there worrying about anything and I was relaxed! So I continued for many years, with my dosage reaching 20mg a day. I didn't really notice any weight issues with it, but the dependency is HORRID. Once on vacation for a week I was afraid I was going to run out of pills and took a 1/2 pill instead of a whole one, and my entire mood changed the whole next day, I felt depressed (which I'm usually not) and just wanted to lay down and do nothing, and started to feel that panic-feeling again. Over the past year I've been trying to ween myself off of it, I am currently down to 5 mg from 20, decreasing by 5 mg each time, and with every decrease I spent a good few weeks feeling horrible... body aches, shaking, mood changes, these electric ZAP feelings inside my head and body which I discovered later were connected to the withdrawl as well. They say the withdrawl can be as bad as heroin withdrawl sometimes. I am stuck right now at 5mg, afraid to go off because going from 10 to 5 was the worst yet. Also, most people (my husband included) blame this medication for lack of sex drive. The medication works great for many people, and not everyone has the horrible withdrawl symptoms, (though they have support groups online for it because it gets so bad). So unless you think you have no other option but to try it, I wouldn't recommend it..."

Bushmaster replied: "I took paxil for 3-4 months and it ruined 2 years of my life. The side effects of taking it were terrible. No matter what you are guaranteed the horrific withdrawal for a month after you start tapering off it. I am forever scared by this drug so I encourage you to talk to a different Dr. I don’t think it has any place in treating anxiety problems. Feel free to email me if you have questions."

What is the best way to withdraw from Paxil? I have been on 20 mg for about a year, for slight post-partum depression/anxiety. I am currently trying to stop taking it. I have already consulted my doc. He told me to cut my pills in half for a week and then start taking half every other day. I ahve done this for about two weeks now like he said but my symptoms are almost unbearable. Has anyone experienced this and what helped you? My symptoms include severe headaches, irritabilty, and nasea.

Psychedelic Enlightenment III replied: "Na, I was talking 30mg for 6 months and cut it cold turkey no problems....but I guess I have had much worse withdrawl in the past. Everyone reacts different"

ricnoodle replied: "You can use 5htp (tryptophan) throughout the day to slowly increase your serotonin levels. Then when it is time to go to bed you will have a nice storage to release. I use about three tablets a day, there is no dependency. When your not depressed you just don't take them."

Lacey G replied: "Paxil and some of the other SSRI antidepressants are very difficult to withdraw from. Back up. Take half a pill for a month. If you feel terrible, try one pill one day and one half the next day alternating for two weeks to a month. Then half every other day for a month. If you do it more slowly, it is easier. I had the same problem with Zoloft. The literature says they are not addicting but they might as well be with the difficult withdrawal."

days_o_work replied: "I bought a pill cutter and took half pills for two weeks then quarter pills for two weeks then stopped altogether. Probably your symptoms will subside if you just stick it out, as your body gets used to the lower dose."

jocelynsuzanne replied: "I just quit and din't notice anything. you might just have to deal with the withdrawl or they might put you on something else to deal with the withdrawl and then you'll just keep taking different kinds of meds."

Kara Doll replied: "hang in there 20 mg is low only took them for a year ..1/2 for a week 10 mg next week1/2 everyother day no//// 1/2 of the 10mg 5 mg everyday then cut down to every other day"

anvil_tix replied: "Well pills suck.. I just quit.. simply enough said.. but the withdraw was very.. very harsh.. made me wish i never took a pill in the first place.. but occupying your time mainly is a thing to do.. sometimes you might be verrrry negative.. but you just have to surpress it.. take a walk.. read a book, an as strange as it will sound.. but.. don't give into your thoughts.. i use to take meds.. worst years i have ever had.. was the withdrawls an how long it took to get over it.. I would have very unbalanced thoughts.. id be very angry.. be off the wall.. and random sometimes.. It sucked.. I didn't feel normal at all kinda made me feel like i was disordered and insane couple time.. then i would occupy myself, an believe that it was the pills withdraw i was going threw.. my sleeping patterns were VERY strange even during my withdraw of the pills... when i would sleep.. first months i would sleep 2 hours only an keep waking up after 2 hours... 3rd an 4th months id sleep only for 4 hours without getting up.. 5th and 6th months only 6 hours of sleep.. then finally 8 hours of sleep on the 10th and 11th month of no medications.. now it is normal.. You will just have to occupy yourself an keep faith in your mind that you can over come this.. cause once you do.. you will feel 100% normal.. normal sleep, normal feelings, an balanced once again.. just the time it takes.. usually its a year.. but the way i quit.. i just quit.. the doctor said i should take half a pill.. an.. it wouldnt really change anything.. you will still have that sedate in your body.. an it would still cause a long period of just feeling really off.. an thats why i just.. didn't even bother taking half.. an just quit all together... Now though, I'd often get agrivated by how the doctor would say.. " you need to believe an accept your problems".. Man, i wish i would have beat crap out of that doctor.. cause if i would have given up to that conclusion i would proabbly gone back to meds.. cause the withdrawl would have beatin me to make believe i was disordered.... I feel 100% clear headed now though.. but the withdraw SUCKED.. good luck.. --just believe in yourself.. MIND OVER MATTER! an you if feel down or lazy.. coffee always waked me up.. coffee is also a antitoxin.. or in other words helps clean the metabolism out.."

Dawn replied: "No brain zaps? You are lucky. It took me a long time to get off Paxil. I kept decreasing the dosage and just kept on SUFFERING. Finally my doc decided to start ramping me up on Lexapro simultaneously while weaning me off Paxil. It was AMAZING. There were no symptoms! I was so GLAD to be off Paxil. Anything that can cause you to feel like you have the flu just by missing one pill is bad news. And I haven't had any brain zaps since getting off the evil drug Paxil."

Who can i talk to about over dosing on my paxil? I have depression and anxeity real bad and I am really stressed out.I am originally taking 40mg of paxil. It has not been helping.I am only suppose to take one everyday. But a couple days ago i accidentally took between 9-12 of them. That is why I want to get help before my addiction gets out of control.

rea4154 replied: "You are LUCKY you still alive. You need to seek medical help. If you don't see Dr. your stupidity will kill you."

Tina replied: "That's alot of paxil to be taking, you will probably run out so unless you get more that will be the end of the addiction, the pharmacy is not going to refill another bottle that fast. If you really feel like you need to take alot of them call the local emergency room or go there, they can suggest something to do, other than that call your doctor or a drug hotline."

lili replied: "pls go and see ur doctor"

Does anyone have an idea of how to lose significant weight while on Paxil? I have been on Paxil for what is going on 2 years. In this time I have packed on 75 pounds. I have tried every diet out there and of course I only lose the minimum a week (1.5-2 lbs) Yes, I could exercise, but when I do, it is like my appetite kicks in to overdrive. I am only 5'3 and severly overweight. I cannot afford bypass surgery, but I think it would benefit someone like me that has to have Paxil for the rest of my life. It is the only antidepressant that works for me (Have tried all others) if I miss a day, I get the depression back like maddd. I need to lose about 100 pounds. Does anyone have a suggestion of a real diet (other than gastric bypass) where I can lose this weight and not actually starve my self for carbs. Drugs or stimulants only react with the Paxil, but I need a simple diet pill that won't react with my Paxil. I need help, any suggestions. Believe it or not, I am a very active person, just severly overweight for my height. Thanks.

MaqAtak replied: "What does Paxil have to do with self discipline? You can't take medicine to cure lack of spine."

Meg D replied: "I also gained weight on an antidepressant and my best recommendation for you would be The Zone. You don't need to bother with all their prepackaged food or even buy the book if you don't want to (although it does have some handy recipes) - a quick Google search will tell you just about all you need to know to get started. The basic idea of The Zone is that you eat the right proportion of carbs to fat to protein to support a healthy hormone balance which in turn fine-tunes your metabolism to optimal performance. Since you are pumping chemicals into your body, those hormones are likely out of whack and need all the support they can get. Best of all, you can still have carbs (just the right kinds) and you aren't starving! :) Good luck."

hrh_gracee replied: "You MUST talk to your doctor right away... that much extra weight is not healthy for your heart. I'm sure you are aware of that and I don't mean to lecture. It's hard to make suggestions because I don't know enough about anti-depressants and drug interactions. Have your doc run a blood panel and check your thyroid as wellas vitamin B. Even if you are not Vit B deficiant, it is possible that it would help you to get weekly injections. Lots of weight loss docs use it to boost metabolism and it also helps with depression, energy and certain other ailments like headaches, migraines and arthritis. Maybe that with a strict physician supervised weight loss plan, exercise (something you like), and some eating habit changes and you should be on your way... It won't come off overnight. 100 pounds could take more than a year. But that means it is healthier and will more likely stay off, too. Best of luck to you!!!"

marti1owl replied: "Go to,, and order the book, The False Fat Diet. I am on Paxil and I have lost 42 lbs, as of about three weeks ago, since last January 2006. You really don't want to lose it much faster than that. The best part about the False Fat Diet is that you don't have cravings once you get started with it. I am actually a patient of Dr. Haas'. He is in San Rafael, CA. I have to drive about 100 miles to see him. But, it is well worth it. I had the blood test done that told me what foods I am reactive to. That made it much easier for me to eliminate those foods from my diet from the beginning. If you are not close enough to see Dr. Haas and have the blood test done, you can figure it out by the process of elimination as he shows in the book. In the beginning he had me eliminate even foods that I was only mildly reactive to, those that were in the insignificant category on the test results. Now I am able to add some of those back in moderation. I will be leaving off my major reactive foods for the rest of my life. I have had a huge shift in how I view food and no longer wish to have those foods and their havoc in my body. I fully intend to get off of all medication when I attain my optimum feel good weight. If you read the book you will see how and why it works and why so many people fail on "regular diets". I don't consider this a diet, but the way I want to eat and feel healthy for the rest of my life. Let me know what you think after you read the book. You can email me direct at Good luck, Marti P.S. You can use the methods given above, but if you are still eating foods that you react to, you will eventually fail. Again, it is explained in the book. I have been through the "success" and failure thing many times over the years. This time is totally different!"
