What's the best way to get tetracycline in solution? I've been using 50% EtOH soln, with no luck.? I've been using 50% etoh to dissolve 25mg into 10mLs but it just won't dissolve. I know that tetracycline is a pain in the butt to get into solution. Any tips or tricks would be helpful thanks.

adops10 replied: "Have you tried DMSO?"

meton0 replied: "I don't know what moron told you to use 50% EtOH, but that will never get 25mg into 10 ml! Use 100% (or close to like 95%) EtOH, then you will be able to get 50 mg into 10 ml!--then use half as much of this stock, get it! Also store this solution in a dark cold place the best being a -20 freezer."

Is there a solution for tetracycline victims who has permaent yellow-stained teeth? Before the 90s, doctors use to give pregnant women a medication called tetracycline which actually causes permanent yellow teeth to the babies where the stained teeth cannot be bleached out with those $1000 special bleachings at bleaching clinics. This actually didn't happen to all pregnancies. I don't know the statistics, but it's a fair good amount in the entire USA. Born in the 70s, unfortunately I am a tetracycline victim. Is there a solution? What do I do? I need to hear from health experts especially dentists if you're here. Thanks. BTW, this is an acne medication. Doctors didn't find out about this medication causing permanent yellow teeth to babies until the late 80s/early 90s. >

Bleaching and Tetracycline Stains (I have the solution!!)? This isnt a question but I wanted to let you all know!!! I am using the professional kit from and it has whitened my teeth dramatically!! This is awesome because my teeth were stained from taking tetracycline as a child. I was told that there was nothing I could do about it except spend thousands of $$$ on veneers... This product is amazing and soooo cheap - it cost approx AU$100 - way cheaper than the dentist and you get enough to do it heaps of times and a remineralisation gel to recoat your teeth in enamel and the essential minerals they need to stay healthy after bleaching - plus their customer service is great too! Just wanted to let you know as I would have loved to have been told about this product - it really works!! Good luck ya'll : ) i dont wanna know if your "not interested" this is for the people who are. I am very grateful to have found this product...thank you very much but dont waste your time...

Red replied: "Not interested, I like to use trust dental kits."

While using Tetracycline for my acne problems, can I also use an acne cream at the same time? I have this old clean and clear acne solution system but my derm. just prescribed me some tetracycline. Is it okay to take tetracycline while using this kind of stuff too at the same time or not?

Zilla replied: "I think it would be fine, but you should ask your derm instead of yahoo."

Forex Expert replied: "there is no problems while using tetracycline.just consult a doctor ,other wise just see the link in your source you will get more information about tetracyline ok"

Are you satisfied with power bleaching to whiten your teeth (for tetracycline victims)? For all of you tetracycline victims like me, there were a couple of patents 3389175 & 3389174 for tetracycline solutions accepted in 2006. I have done some research on some dentists who perform this power bleaching procedure which is much more powerful than the standard white bleaching. I have had the white bleaching procedure done once a couple of years before knowing my teeth were stained permanently via tetracycline. I didn't have any noticible effects from white bleaching. I was totally dissatisfied. I would like to know for those of you who had the power bleaching procedure done, how did your results turn out? Did power bleaching improve the whiteness of your teeth dramatically? Are you satisfield, somewhat satisfied, or totally dissatisfield? I would greatly appreciate knowing a lot of results before going in for a power bleaching procedure myself. Thank you.

Tooth discoloration due to tetracycline? How can this be treated. Are veneers only real solution?

Dr NO replied: "Go to a good orthodontist. He will give you the best treatment. My wife had the same problem and she had it whitened professionally."

WiserAngel replied: "There is no way to lighten tetracycline teeth because its through the entire tooth and not just on the surface. Any tooth whitening product cannot penetrate that deeply into the tooth. Yes, the only thing you could do is get veneers."

ohwaw replied: "unfortunately .. tetracycline pigmentation is a silly thing to teeth .. but you got to visit your dentist to see if the spots are extensive enough to be only covered with crowns .. or sometimes they may be filled in with composites .. or simply ground and bleached if they are tiny.. but in most cases veneers are the only solution .."

Nebula D replied: "I'm a dentist. Absolutely. Tetracycline gets deposited in the mineral structure of your developing teeth and your bones, causing a greenish/grayish color. This is what we call an "intrinsic" stain, which is very tough to treat. You can try to have your teeth whitened by your dentist. He/she will almost certainly inform you that results may be limited at best. I would nonetheless recommend it, because it's much cheaper than placing veneers and should it fail you will not have spent more than $500 on the process. Veneers, however, more often than not produce truly remarkable cosmetic results for all kinds of aesthetic problems. If the bleaching fails, you can still look forward to having nice teeth."

Acne solutions without the dry flaky skin? Do they exist? I tried oral tetracycline and it worked great at first, but wore off after 3 months. I know active ingredients like benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid dry skin, but what are some drying agents that are less well known? Also, how can I get rid of the dry flakiness if using a product with drying agents is my only solution?

Emilia replied: "Cucumber is good for treating skin eruptions and bulges and for whitening skin. It can also prevent pimples, wrinkles, blackheads and dryness of the face. Orange juice can be an effective remedy for pimples and acne. It can also be used for scar and blemish removal."

Chabs14 replied: "If you find one, tell me. I'm allergic to benzoyl peroxide and I went to my dermatologist and I actually had to get shots so that I would not get boils and things like that. I have it bad on my face but it could be worse. He prescribed me some stuff but it would make my skin peel so bad, I would just rip pieces of flesh off my face lol. I just got a treatment called Zyporex which sounds like it might work. If you find a good one let me know!"

Jim B replied: "Clear Pores comes with a facial protection cream that keeps your skin from drying out while keeping your pores clear. I know when I had very bad acne the dry skin from the cures were almost worse than the acne problem itself. I wrote up a review on the ClearPores system that you can find here: "

why can't i ged rid of chalazions? i have had steriod injections, multiple surgeries, do eyelid scrubs and am on tetracycline. The darn things keep coming back and they look and feel terrible. My eyelids are becoming disfigured. is there no solution?

Sexy dude replied: "you did surgeries? what did those doctors tell you? no matter how many times you cut your fingernails, they will also keep growing back so maybe you are overdoing it"

penicillin cleared up my acne but i don't want to be on meds...? i don't want to be on tetracycline or anything... so what can i do now that i know a possible solution that works? what can i do naturally? ??????????

paal22 replied: "Acne is also a result of stress and a wrong diet. I had acne and found a product named Zinplex Forte. It is available at and contains Zinc and Selenium and Vitamin A. Take 3 tablets a day for 14 days and then 1 tablet a day. It will assist with your problem, act as an anti-oxidant and clear your skin. It might get worse for 2-3 days before it gets better but it works. It has no side effects and is safe to use. Try it and enjoy life as I do without acne! This is also a natural product of Zinc and Selenium which are natural minerals which our bodies need everyday!"

SZO replied: "It's good to choose the natural methods to avoid side effects from the drugs. To treat acne, you need to take vitamins such as A, B3, B6, Pantothenic Acid, C, and E. Take minerals like Selenium, and Zinc. Other nutrient such as Omega-6 is also needed. You can get these vitamins and minerals from foods such as fresh fruits and vegies, oysters, whole grains, peanuts, sunflower seeds, eggs, and chicken. Foods to avoid are fried foods and processed foods that contain iodized salts as they aggrevate acne flare-ups. Multi-vitamins is also a good source. Hope this helps."

Imaka replied: "Beware of using any products for acne unless they have been prescribed or recommended by your doctor. People make all kinds of suggestions about the best thing to do to cure acne. Some cures I’ve heard include putting oatmeal, honey, lemon juice, tea tree oil, cucumber, vinegar, milk of magnesia or toothpaste on your face. Practically every cosmetics company and company that makes personal care products makes something that is a “sure cure” for acne. If we think about this, and use some common sense, we have to come to the conclusion that there is no quick or easy cure for acne, because if there was it would be well known and doctors would be telling everyone about it. Numerous companies make a lot of money persuading people to buy products that at worst will make the acne worse, and at best may help some people a little. Often fewer products are better. People often make their acne much worse by using too many products. There really is no quick fix for acne. Don’t spend a lot of money on products just because their ads say that they will cure acne. Your doctor is the best person to ask for help, and he or she may recommend some prescription medication or non-prescription treatment that may be suitable for you.. There are some very simple and basic things you can do that cost nothing. Keep your face or any other area affected by acne very clean. Any mild antibacterial soap will help with that. Rinse the area well to remove all soap residue. Drink plenty of water – it really does help to clear up acne. Eat a nutritious diet and get enough sleep. A healthy life style will make a difference. Try to reduce the stress in your life – stress contributes to acne, so also probably the more you worry about the acne and focus on it, the worse it will be. Probably the most useful and effective things you can do are to apply hot compresses to pustules and cysts and never to pick or squeeze pimples. Playing with or popping pimples, no matter how careful and clean you are, nearly always makes bumps stay redder and bumpier longer. Here are a few informative links with additional ideas about preventing and treating acne. "

Can you help me with my sneezing/depressed chicken.? I have a chicken that i did not originally raise from a baby chick. I got it from a friend and after a week, a wild animal got 2 out of the 3 chickens that i received from a friend. 1 didn't make it for sure but the other went missing for a couple of days. Then our neighbor brought it back to us, with all of its back feathers ripped off. Ever since then, it looked depressed, and sleepy by standing up with its eyes closed under a small tree every morning. She doesn't eat with the same vigor as the other chickens, and is obviously lighter than even the smallest hen. Her face is a little bit paler than the others, plus sneezes a lot and whenever you pick her up. We think it's the air sac disease, and we treat her with a very diluted solution of Duramycin-10: Tetracycline Hydrochloride Soluble Powder which is an antibiotic through i think an unused basting needle and every day morning and evening have her drink it. The first day showed huge improvement but wasn't completely cured and the day followed and progression didn't look likely. I'm sorry this such a long "additional details" xD, but please if you do know, tell me! Thank you for in advanced :] i have 5 other chickens...

Sierra replied: "maybe you could get the chicken a playmate? and DON'T, this sounds silly, put the chicken on antidepressants. and dont be sorry for the extra details. it can be very helpful to smarter people as i have yet to be a 6th grader.... and im 10, not dumb or "special"."
